African-Jewish Tribes
In a book titled “Black Jews in Africa and the Americans” by Tudor Parfitt explains the complex story of how the Ashanti, Tutsi, and many other tribes in Africa of why the people believe they descended from Israel and are Jewish. In a book review of Tudor’s book written by Gloria Levitas, she asserts that DNA analysis has confirmed that many African Tribes were the descendants of Jewish-Israeli tribes (Levitas, momentmag.com). Further, many of these Jewish tribes became targets of genocide. For example, the Rwanda genocide began with the massacre of 800,000 of the Tutsi people by the Hutu majority ("The Rwandan Genocide" History.com). The massacre was initiated with the assassination of the presidents of Habyarimana and Burundi ("The Rwandan Genocide" History.com). Without undisputable proof the, Hutu militia groups in combination with other groups began to massacre members of the Tutsi tribe, which were descendants of Jews.
